G7 | Students Share Rainforest Poems
Ms Urban’s Grade 7 I&S students are sharing poems they wrote for class.
The students were instructed to write a descriptive poem about tropical rainforests. Students were asked to think about location, climate, sounds, smells, animals, what one might see, how it might feel and what might be heard. Finally, students were asked to consider the importance of a tropical rainforest.

The tropical rainforest
To save the world, you save the trees.
A tropical rainforest is a place to be.
Large trunk can be grown from a seed.
It’s a place where creatures can be free.
The sounds make it real, to make people feel better.
