2022 Virtual Career Event Provides Students Insight into Different Professions

The 2022 Virtual Career Event was a success! Middle Years Programme and Diploma Programme students attended all or a portion of the event. The Virtual Career Event supports students in their exploration of pathways, to provide them with an insight into different professions and with information on the university courses that have led to specific careers. 

In the STEMzone, Grade 12 students listened as keynote speaker Dr. Shanton Chang, Professor and Associate Dean (International) of the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology at the University of Melbourne, discussed Skills for the Post-Pandemic 21st Century. Grade 9 – 11 students joined virtually from home.

In the afternoon Grade 9 – 11 students attended three 40-minute online sessions, offered by 24 professionals in STEM, Social and Medical Sciences, Arts and other careers. 

The event was organized by the Parent Teacher Organization, Careers & University Counsellor Simone Goetschalckx and other school staff.
