AIS Robotics Team Wins Silver

February 12, 2025

The AIS Robotics team achieved second place during the VEX Robotics Competition this past January. This scrimmage event, held at Nooby Tech Headquarters, had sixteen teams competing in the event.

To prepare for this event, the AIS Robotics team has been working together for five weeks. Each team is equipped with the basic VEX robot, but from there, it is up to the students to program it within the parameters of the organisation. Students are constantly working on different aspects of the robot, allowing them to work on a variety of skills like programming, engineering and keeping a book log of their progress.

The competition worked through collaboration between teams from several schools using and programming their robots. The robots would have to pass and throw a ball into the goal to earn points within a designated time. Importance was placed on passing the ball and working together as a team. This meant that students had to reevaluate their strategies, consider varying perspectives and form new partnerships with different teams throughout the event for four matches in total.

Between rounds, the students had the opportunity to improve upon their robot based on the prior round’s performance. Using their collaborative, critical thinking and communication skills, our team placed second and moved on to the championship match in Masseik, Limburg.

Congratulations to our students on their great success. We know this is only the be

ginning.
