Innovation Machines with Grade 5 | VIDEO
Grade 5 students are proud to share their innovative group projects. The Primary Years Programme (PYP) students learned about forces and simple machines and built ‘Innovation Machines’. The project is connected to their Unit of Inquiry on Innovation and was inspired by a recent trip to the da Vinci exhibition. You can see their projects in the video below.
MAKING THE MACHINES
The students collaborated in small groups to combine what they have learned during these explorations in order to design and construct a complex machine, which includes at least 3 simple machines. They acted and reflected upon their Approaches to Learning skills, social skills and thinking skills.
FIELD TRIP TO ANTWERP
These Primary Years Programme students had the unique opportunity to visit the da Vinci Exhibition in Antwerp in support of this unit on Innovation. By stepping into the world of Leonardo da Vinci, the PYP students found inspiration through da Vinci’s innovative ideas and inventions.
